Ted Hayes, a lifelong resident of Live Oak, FL, passed away on February 16, 2026, at the age of 69. He dedicated over twenty years of his life working at Southwind Preserve. Ted is survived by his wife of thirty years, Cynthia Hayes, and his children: Melissa Colvin of Pinetta, FL, Dusty Martinez of Day, FL, Cynthia Horton of Lake City, FL, Matt Hayes of Greenville, FL, Charles Zayes of Mims, FL, and Michael Zayes of Live Oak, FL. He also leaves behind his sisters, Melanie Clark and Christine Rickerson of Live Oak, FL, and Joyce McCray of MS, along with numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Ted was preceded in death by his sisters, Louise Flowers, Debbie Bronson, and Faye Lawrence. A celebration of his life will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, February 19th at Southwind Preserve, 20947 136th Street Live Oak, FL 32060, with Rev. Mike Carson officiating.
