Thomas (Tom) E. Townsend, 77, passed away peacefully on Monday, August 13, 2024, at his home in Clarksville, TN. We are sad that he has left this earth, but we know he is home with his Savior. Tom was born in Philadelphia, PA. on September 25, 1946, to Joseph Arthur Townsend Sr. & Mary Elizabeth Townsend. He was preceded in death by his parents: Joseph & Mary; a sister: Betty; and a brother: Carl.

Throughout his life, Tom never met a stranger and had the wonderful gift of sharing his love of the Lord with people he met throughout his daily ventures. Tom was the type of man that would give you the shirt off of his back, and the shoes off of his feet and knew that the Lord would give him a better pair of shoes and a shirt down the road. Tom's favorite thing to do in life was to talk about the Lord. This, along with sharing the mysteries of the moon, and watching The Price is Right every day at 11:00 am. was how his golden years looked. He was the kind of man that if you needed something fixed and didn't have any money – he would let you give him some eggs. The only thing he asked of others was for them to love the Lord, love others, and forgive everything.

Tom is survived by his partner: Kim; his son: Thomas (Tommy) Jr (Cindy); sister Christine; brother: Joseph Jr. (Wanda); nieces: Debra, Karen, Teresa, Mary, Chyerl, Laura, & Melissa; grandchildren: Kyle & Secily; and four great-grandchildren Makaylah, Koda, Daxton, & Dayton.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am, Friday, August 23, 2024, at Daniels Funeral Home, Branford, FL. A visitation for friends and family will be prior to the service from 10:00 am to 11:00 am.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to his favorite charity: The Salvation Army.
