Vernie "Louise" Daughtry, 87, Live Oak , FL passed away on Thursday, November 23, 2023. Ms. Daughtry was born on July 9, 1936, one of seven children raised by Vernon and Marie Daughtry. She was born and raised in the Live Oak area, and was a good mother to Dewayne and Stacey Douglas. Ms. Daughtry moved to Live Oak in 1968 from Lake Wales, she worked at  Badcock and Goldkist and she loved fishing. She was a fun loving aunt to her nieces and nephews and she loved all of her family and friends. She also loved working in her yard before she became sick and taking care of her flowers. She is survived by her daughter: Stacey Douglas; brother: Jerry V. Daughtry (Emily) and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her son: Louie Dewayne Douglas; sister: Francis McCall; brothers: Raymond Daughtry, Tony Daughtry and Vernon Daughtry. She will be missed by many.

Services will be held at 11 am Tuesday, November 28th at Daniels Memorial Chapel with Rev. David McKeithen officiating. Interment will follow in the Antioch Baptist Church Cemetery. There will be a visitation prior to the service at Daniels beginning at 10:00 am.
