Virgil Wainwright, 84, Live Oak, FL passed away on Sunday, October 2, 2022. The Brantley County, GA-born native moved to Live Oak in 1970 from Tallahassee, FL, served in the Air Force and was of Christian Faith. He worked for the Department of Transportation in Tallahassee for twenty and a half years. Mr. Wainwright is survived by his three sons: Thomas Virgil Wainwright, Jr. (Pam), Live Oak, Robert Steven Wainwright (Kelly), Panama City, FL, John Wainwright (Latrell), Tallahassee; three sisters: Eula Wingate (Wayne), Hillard, FL, Earnestine Wainwright-Hrinko (Walt), Middleburg, FL, Faye Evans (Darnell), Jacksonville, FL; four brothers: Alvin Wainwright (Connie), McAlpin, FL, Barney Wainwright (Tommy Lou), Live Oak, Carl Wainwright (Gail), Live Oak, Earl Tapley, Jacksonville, FL; nine grandchildren: Thomas, Kelsey, Sandra, Kyndal, Jonathan, Jr., Seth, Steven, Will, Mary, and one great-grandchild: Lucia Marilyn Vankirk. He was preceded in death by his wife of forty-eight years: Delores Wainwright and his daughter: Michelle Wainwright. Graveside services will be held at 10 am Friday, October 7th at Friendship Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. James Evans officiating.
