Wayman Keith Smith, aged 88, of Day, FL, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 25, 2025. Born on February 1, 1937, in Day, FL, he was the beloved son of the late Madison Lonzo and Vinnie F. Smith. Wayman was a dedicated member of the Brewer Lake Baptist Church, where he served as a Deacon and was actively involved in church activities.

He enjoyed a long and fulfilling career with Independent Life, working for 42 years across Macon, GA, Jackson, TN, and Jacksonville, FL, before retiring in 1998. Wayman had a passion for hunting, fishing, duck hunting, gardening, and spending time outdoors, especially with his brother.

Wayman is survived by his loving wife, Joan Smith, and his two daughters, Charlotte Smith Jenkins (Michael) and Teresa Smith Thompson (Steven). He is also survived by his sisters, Eloise Green and Helen Hingson (Clark), as well as his seven grandchildren: Heather (Nick) Drushel, Nathan (Heather) Pierce, Andrew Pierce, Naomi (Craig) Harris, Matthew (Kayla) Thompson, Arika (Aaron) Lindsey, and Kayla Smith. He leaves behind thirteen cherished great-grandchildren: Alexis, Michael Thomas, Charlie Elizabeth, Landon, Lilah, Ella, Eva, Emery, Aubrey, Everett, Adaline, Aiden, and Aria. He was preceded in death by his daughter: Margaret Denise Smith and brothers: Hugh, Lewis, Harold, and Govan.

A visitation will be held at 10:00 am on Saturday, March 8th at Brewer Lake Baptist Church, followed by a service at 11:00 am. Interment will take place at Day Cemetery.
