Wayne Shumway, 63, passed away on Wednesday, November 9, 2022. Wayne graduated from the University of Maryland in 1981, he spent six years working at the University of Texas Health Sciences Center in Dallas, TX before joining the Lifelink Transplantation and Immunology Laboratory in Tampa, FL in 1990. He retired from Lifelink in 2020 and moved to his ideal retirement location in Live Oak, Florida in 2021. He is survived by his wife of thirty-eight years: Billie Shumway; son: Joseph Kris Shumway, Live Oak; parents: Myron and Audrey Shumway; brother: Kevin Shumway, Laurel, MD; sister: Heather and brother-in-law David Fitzgerald; nephew and niece: Jack and Hannah Fitzgerald, Belle Aire, MD. He was preceded in death by his son: Michael Shumway. A memorial service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations can be made to the Live Oak Animal Control 701 Lime Ave NW, Live Oak, FL, United States, Florida.
