Wilbur Edward Hand, Sr., age 84 of O'Brien, FL passed away peacefully at home on May 13, 2023. Mr. Hand was born January 9, 1939, in Miami, FL to Wilbur Eulice and Minnie Stephens Hand.

Following High School at Coral Gables Senior High, Wilbur enlisted in the United States Coast Guard. Wilbur's love of the water and environment was evident as he became a commercial fishing boat captain in Marathon, FL where he spent countless hours on the water. This was the beginning of his life as a fisherman and crabber. In 1980, Wilbur moved to McAlpin, FL with his wife Barbara and their two sons Eddie and Chris, where he became a owner/operator of Happy Acres Poultry Farm for the next 40 years. He was of Baptist Faith and a member of the Branford Bass Masters.

Mr. Hand is survived by his wife of 15 years Sharon Register Hand, two sons: Eddie (Jeri-lyn) Hand, Chris (Brooke) Hand, and one stepdaughter Tracy (Michael) Lamb; grandchildren: Ashley Hand, Zachary (Olivia Williams) Hand; step grandchildren: Emma Sims, Dalton Lamb, Blake Lamb; two sisters: Helen Boothe and Linda (Bryan) Slunt.

Wilbur was preceded in death by his parents, first wife Barbara (Blanton) Hand; two sisters: Maxine Hand and Barbara Laverne Hand; two stepdaughters: Kim (Robbie) Sims and Jennifer (Jerry) Herndon.

Services will be held at 11: 00 am Wednesday, May 17th at Daniels Memorial Chapel in Live Oak with Rev. Jerry Herndon officiating. There will be a visitation held prior to the service beginning at 10:00 am. Interment will be held in Oak Grove Cemetery.
