William (Bill) Heithaus passed away on November 28, 2024 at the age of 96. Born in Ferguson, Missouri, he was preceded in death by his wife of 65 years, Mildred Margaret Lindsey of Hatchbend, FL and his four siblings Joseph Heithaus, Anne Quinn, Barbara Pusateri and Ruth Caracciolo. He is survived by his daughters Susan DelRusso, Diana Worden and Karen Ludeman, 8 grandchildren, and 4 great grandchildren…and his beloved cat Booger.

Bill had a full life starting out in the Navy at the age of 18. He surveyed in the hills of North Dakota when he got out. Graduated from St Louis University with a degree in electrical engineering. He worked as a field engineer for Sperry Electronics, then later for GTE. Later in life he went back to school at night to get his MBA. He graduated with honors.

His senior years were spent on his pine tree farm in Hatchbend. It was his happy place and he took a lot of pride in keeping it going.

Bill was a thinker, a problem solver. No matter the task, he always had a pen in his pocket and was ready to take on his next challenge. He had the ability to think things through and get them done.

Bill was a devout Catholic. He attended San Juan Catholic Church and was always looking for ways to lend a hand.

A funeral mass will be held at Epiphany Catholic Church in Lake City FL on January 4, 2025 at 10:00 am. There will be a private family burial service at Hatchbend Baptist after.
