Our History

Daniels Funeral Home was established in December of 1961 by J.B. Daniels, Jr. The original structure was a 3-story home built (as close as we can determine) in the late 1800's or early 1900's; this building was eventually moved from the original location, and a new facility was built in June of 1964. In September of 1965, we purchased from our uncle a funeral home in Branford, Florida - 25 miles south of Live Oak, but still located in Suwannee County.

The original Branford Funeral Home was built in 1955. Both locations were completely remodeled inside and out, with additional space added in 1985. In March of 2008, our newly constructed funeral home opened in Live Oak. It provides the latest in comfort and service to our families. The Daniels family has been in Suwannee County since the mid-1800s, mostly residing in the O'Brien area. We are proud to say the funeral home is currently in its second generation of family ownership.
